A visitor for the weekend!

Hailey gets to be the VIB (Very Important Bear) this week at school. She got to take Jimmy, the class bear, home for the weekend. She was so excited to finally be chosen....I think she said there were only three names left in the hat...anyway, Jimmy got to sleep with her (he had his own blankie just like she does)...go to a birthday party with her.....make a new baking creation with her....and meet Sadie.

This weekend was the end of my Digi in Deep class. This was my last layout. It isn't quite finished because I was supposed to scan my fingerprint and put that in white up near my finger on the left side....but our scanner is still not working....I am hoping Epson will call me back soon! Anyway, this was a tough layout and I need to re-watch the video before I feel ready to show any of you how I did this. But there was a lot of neat stuff in it too. My skills have definately grown and what is better...I am caught up to Christmas and I have made dozens of templates! If I can figure out how to post them so that you can download them I will do that. Have a great week everyone!

The Sickies.....Ugggh!

Yep today you get to see what we have been up to for over two weeks....my only regret is that I didn't take my camera with me to Micah's dr. appointment last week...he looked so sweet in his hospital gown getting that chest exray! Oh well...maybe I won't want to remember all he went through last week!

I have disinfected my house twice since last Thursday! You know how I hate germs! But I guess they can pick em up elsewhere....This is the sight this morning about an hour after giving Taylor Tylenol....I am praying this will not be another two weeks of sickness!

I am feeling well enough again to do my homework for digi in deep...this week we had to do 24 pages...wow! Don't feel too sorry for me....we made templates and then just added finishing touches. I used like 6 templates. This is what I have so far. Plus I figure by the end of this class I will be caught up to Christmas of this year! That is a big benefit!

St. Patricks Day

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Our green dinner was very small this year. I was really sick with a terrible cough and high fever so Jeff stopped at the store on his way home from work to pick up a few items. The picture of Micah cracks me up because he didn't eat one thing that was green...ha! The rest of these photos go to show what happens around our house when mom is out of commission. I love my hubby dearly...don't get me wrong....this just isn't his thing...truly I don't think he even notices it! When I got up this morning the girls had packed their lunches and written notes to Micah and I (I didn't even hear them wake up)....Bless their hearts! So precious! Hailey stuck hers on my computer monitor....does that mean anything to you????? She knows that is the first place I will look :-) Fortunately I woke up before they left out the door...I would have felt terrible if I slept past their time to get on the bus! Oh well...I feel like my fever is going away and now I just have this terrible cough to deal with. Little Micah woke up this morning looking as bad as I felt yesterday and he has a fever of 102 right now. I am really hoping that this doesn't run through our whole family! But I have to say it has been nice to be home and spend time on the couch reading my bible. Wouldn't trade that for anything!

Today I am thankful for two things. First of all Jeff found a dead rat under the house and so we will soon be rid of the horrible smell and ready to have friends over again! I am so relieved as this wreched smell has caused me to feel very sick and has made for a very stressful week.

I am also thankful that I can finally tell you the truth....My sister-in-law Jeannie is pregnant again and this time it looks real hopeful. She is due the end of September. We are so excited and happy for them!

My Creative World

I can't help it...I LLLLOOOOOOVE to be creative! I think I am an addict.....I made a rule not to have the computer on while the kids were awake because otherwise I get so into my "work" I forget that there is another world out there- LOL! So this week has been great. I have gotten to take some cute pictures of two precious boys....

I learned how to make plain painted backgrounds look like textured...Bazzil lookalike card stock WAHOOOO!!!! That was like the coolest thing ever...and so easy! I learned how to take typing and turn it into a brush to be saved for use over and over again. I learned how to use the custom shape tool....There are a lot more shapes than the star and heart (I didn't know that!). I learned how to make buttons that have more than one color on them be recolored in a way that looks real. I learned how to make one picture fade into another...the only problem is my... ehem... all in one Epson printer/scanner is not working so I can't finish my layout....so you will have to wait to see it until Epson contacts me. Their support is unbelieveably horrible! I am thinking I should have gotten a different machine! But anyway, here is another layout I made using the things I have learned.

In Bible study we have been talking about making index cards with our favorite scriptures on them so that we can go back to them when we are going through a hard time. I made 8 cards last week and am excited to make 8 more this week.....However, I am not going to use the cards because I am gonna print them into a 6X6 book. We all need one of these right? God is so much bigger than even our biggest problems. There isn't a day that I don't remember to thank Him for the blessings He has promised in His special book. When I used to teach Sunday School I always told the kids that the Bible was my favorite book. They knew it too because I told them a lot....just couldn't help myself. So many good things in the scriptures! Anyway, here is the beginning of my book....

And, to top it all off this week....Sadie graduated from Obedience School today! She scored a 183 out of 200 (you need 170 to pass). I was so nervous because last week she scored a 140...she failed miserably and I felt like the student who was embarressed to be in the class. So this past week we crammed!!!! Seriously, it was like being in college again. Crazy! One thing I know is that I cannot go back to that time in my life. School stresses me out! Why do I always to overachieve? For goodness sake...who cares what the score is as long as you pass right? Maybe she did so well because Jeff took her for a long run this morning. Or maybe it was all the dramamine I gave her before we left!

Anyway, I feel like I could just crash tonight. So pleased but so tired! A dear friend heard that I had been sick this week and brought dinner tonight. What a treat. Bless her heart!

Now the only thing left on my plate is that my Aunt & Uncle from Arizona are coming with their three kids tomorrow for a quick visit. We love to see them and I am really looking forward to seeing them all again. Their son Jared is getting married and his fiance' is coming along so we are going to have a surprise shower on Sunday afternoon. I decided to make a bunch of recipe cards with favorite Scheffer family recipes as a gift. They turned out really cool and now I am thinking that mine are looking pretty shabby. Perhaps I will need to make new ones for myself as well. But it will have to wait.

Digi in Deep!

I started a new class today called Digi in Deep. I think it is good timing for me as I have a lot of reflecting to do....particularly on relationships and where God wants me to serve Him most. Hopefully I will have lots of time to journal. I find myself now surrendering to whatever His will is for me and I feel ready to rest in His protecting arms. Anyway...too deep soo sorry!!!!!!!!!!

This class is unreal! Everything on the bottom layout was from this class....starting from scratch! We learned how to make scallops, make our own vector shapes, use the lasso to highlight one area of the focal photo and make an overlay so that one area is brighter than the rest of the picture, make a mask around hard to fit around shapes, to recolor embellishments so it doesn't take the texture away, uhhhhhhh....okay I think I am brain dead!

Well it is time for me to go to puppy school (make up class tonight). Today we walked to Bender and spent several hours there at the dog park (and the kid park)! Next week should be graduation if Sadie does well enough....I will look forward to that!
